Session Outline: Not only since ChatGPT does the whole world seem to be talking about artificial intelligence: How, thanks to AI, cars will soon be able to drive themselves, diseases can be detected earlier and better, and how AI has already surpassed us humans in creativity. What is missing in the headlines between technology euphoria and doomsday panic is a critical and objective approach to the topic. That’s why this beginner-friendly, introductory workshop will be about what AI actually is, what AI is capable of – and what AI is not good at. We will focus on making AI accessible for music makers by building our own little Machine Learning Model with Sounds and play around with generative Music. Another focus will be copyright, especially what the current development of generative AI means for music artists in term of royalities and rights.
